Thajsky box (Thai boxing)

Minuly ctvrtek jsme se byli podivat na mistni zapasy thajskeho boxu. Puvodne jsem si myslel, ze to je jen okrajova zalezitost, ale je to asi nejpopularnejsi mistni sport. Z 60 milionu obyvatel je registrovano 60 tisic boxeru.

Meli jsme stesti, ze jsme se spratelili s nasimi sousedy z vedlejsiho bungalovu, protoze Andre aktivne thajsky box cvici a sli take na tyto zapasy.  Kdyz jsme neco nevedeli zeptali jsme se Andreho a tak to pro nas bylo zajimavejsi.

Kdyz jsme se divali na seznam zapasniku, tak jsme mysleli, ze to budou zapasy v tezke vaze, ale nakonec se ukazalo, ze vaha byla v librach a misto 100 kg meli neco pres 50 kg. Ten prvni zapas spis vypadal, ze se perou mali kluci. Pozdeji to bylo lepsi a dalsi zapasnici byli opravdu dobri a technictejsi. Tam bych se uz radsi nepletl :-).

Last Thursday we went to the local Thai Boxing fights. It seems to be the most popular sport in Thailand.

We met a very friendly couple just next bungalow from us and went together to the fights. Andre who is training Thai boxing himself was a good advisor to what was happening in the ring.

In the beginning we thought it will be heavy weight but the weights were in pounds so we were pretty surprised when a small boys were fighting each other. In the following fights boxers were much more experienced so we would not mess with them at all :-). We saw very nice and technical fights in the hot local atmosphere.
