Chiang Mai
Aneb co zajimaveho na severu Thajska
What is interesting in the North of Thailand
Finaly we are back at internet again and we can write another article. We have also added some ilustrative photos of the king in the second quiz. So have a look :-).
As we have already mentined we had to escape to the North because of the weather but we didn’t mind at all. Just the opposit :-).
From Chiang Mai you can easily reach Myanmar (previously Burma) in the west or Laos in the Northeast. In this old city you can see many temples (maybe as many as in Bangkok), near mountains and large jungles suitable for jungle trecking.
We went to the most interesting temple in Chiang Mai which is the Wat Chedi Luang. Architecture of this tempel differs from any other temple we had seen in Thailand. Wat Chedi Luang was enlarged many times but the earthquake disrupted its statics and the top of the temple.
We met a lot of monks through out Thailand but they seemed to be closed and inapproachable. At this temple we were even asked to stop for a while and talk to them. We talked to monk “A” (this is his name) approximately 2 hours about the Thai culture, habbits, their king, budhism, meditations and other interesting things for us.
Druhy den jsme si pujcili moped, vybavili se mapou a ksiltovkou, protoze slunicko opravdu palilo 🙂 a vydali jsme se nejprve k vodopadum Huaykeaw a potom do hor k chramovemu komplexu Doi Suthep.
The second day we rented a motorbike, took a map and caps (because the sun was almost burning 🙂 ) and we went to the Huaykew waterfalls and then up to the mountains to the Doi Suthep temple complex.
Doi Suthep
Pred zapadem slunce jsme se zastavili v chramu Suan Dok v Chiang Mai. Vychutnejte si scenerie bilych pagod, hlavni zlate padody, zapadu slunce a mnicha v chramovem komplexu z fotek sami.
Before sunset we stopped at the Suan Dok temple in Chiang Mai. Just enjoy the scenery of white pagodas, main gold pagoda and the monk with the green background and setting sun.
In three days spent in Chaing Mai we have deffinitely not managed to see all interesting stuff here. Definitely we would like to come back and have a look in to the jungle at least for two or more days. Hope we will come back :-).
